Community Involvement
The Manhattan/Riley County Preservation Alliance promotes the economic health of the community through historic preservation. The M/RCPA acts on behalf of its members to ensure elected and public officials understand the implications of their decisions as they relate to preserving our community's historic heritage. Our members are active participants in community issues associated with city zoning and planning as they pertain to historic preservation.
The M/RCPA collaborates with and supports organizations and entities at the local, state, and national levels to advance the cause of historic preservation. Our relationships with the Riley County Historical Society, the City of Manhattan's Historic Resources Board, the Kansas Preservation Alliance, the Kansas State Historic Preservation Office and the National Trust for Historic Preservation have made a difference in Manhattan and Riley County, and will continue to do so into the future.
