Welcome to the Manhattan/Riley County Preservation Alliance website!

Our mission is to engage the community in the active preservation of its 
historic resources by

- promoting historic preservation in the community and surrounding area,
- enhancing economic development through historic preservation,
- and educating the community as to the cultural importance of historic preservation.

We have adopted the Charleston Principles as our guidelines.  Since the Preservation Alliance was formed in 1994, we have focused on the rehabilitation of the Union Pacific Railroad Depot located in Manhattan, Kansas.
